8TH INTERNATIONAL RECYCLED CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS SCULPTURE COMPETITION
The CDW recycling centre, "AR Los Huertos" is announcing the 8th International Sculpture Competition using recycled construction and demolition materials.
Any natural persons, of legal age, who are not employees of the Company and who have not participated in organising the competition may participate.
Those who wish to participate can register free of charge by filling out the form that appears in the appendix and then clicking send or emailing or mailing it.
4. Subject matter.
Contestants may choose their own subject matter. The works must be new and must not have been submitted previously to any other competition. Only one work is allowed per contestant.
The discipline is sculpture. The works may not exceed 1 m (one meter) on its diagonal axis, not including the support.
The work submitted shall be made with recycled construction and demolition materials.
The Organising Company provides contestants with the materials that they may need to make their sculpture free of charge at the Recycling Plant.
6. Submission of the works.
Works must be submitted anonymously with their title.
The artist's personal data and the title of the work will be submitted in an envelope.

The shipping fees will be borne by each contestant and the works that do not win will be returned by freight collect at the artist's request and within four months of the jury's decision.
Unless otherwise indicated by the artists, the works submitted may become part of a group exhibit. The venue and the duration of the exhibit shall be indicated once the competition has ended.
7. Submission Deadline
The submission deadline is 30 August 2019. Works received by mail or courier must be sent prior to this date.
Before submitting your work, you may contact the organisation to verify that it meets all the requirements and specify the shipping method.
8. The jury. Evaluation Criteria.
The jury shall be composed of individuals with recognised experience in the art world, education and the environmental field.
The jury's decision shall be final and based on the following evaluation criteria:
– The use of materials from construction works and demolitions.
– Recovery of the materials used.
– Creativity and originality.
– Aesthetic and artistic value.
The decision shall be announced the first week in September on the company's website, www.arloshuertos.com, and on various social networks.
One first prize shall be awarded of €1,200, one second prize of €600 and one third prize of €300. If the jury considers appropriate, there shall be up to two honourable mentions.
The award-winning works and those that are not claimed shall become the property of the organisation who may lend them to public institutions for their exhibition and display.
10. Presentation of Awards.
The prizes will be awarded on Thursday, 31 October 2019 at the closing ceremony of the 1st International Congress of Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling (C&D Waste) which will be held at the Instituto de Ciencias de la Construcción Eduardo Torroja in Madrid.

12. Acceptance of the rules.
Participation in the "8th International Recycled Construction Materials Sculpture Competition" implies the acceptance of these rules.
The organiser is exempt from all liability in the event of network or equipment malfunction which prevents the competition from taking place normally and shall not be liable for transmission problems or loss of emails or other communications.
The organiser is not responsible for losses, damages, breakage or incidents beyond its control, nor is it responsible for the packaging and transport upon receipt or from the moment it is handed over for shipment to the artist.
The organiser shall not be responsible for the rights that arise from copies of or allusions to other, already existing, pieces.
Contestants' data may be used by the organiser for other events and activities related to the competition, for which prior registration according to Section 2 is necessary.
Winners and other contestants assign the publicity rights for their work to be published on social networks, in the catalogue for the exhibit and other events related to the competition.
The winners must attend the award ceremony, with the exception of duly accredited force majeure. Otherwise, the Organisation may award the prize to the next most voted work.
